About Me

Why Hello,

My name is Christine.

I don't know how you came upon this blog, but I'm oh so glad you did.
I'm actually a happenstance blogger, who answered the little voice inside that said I should write down some of the early adventures.

By day, I spend my time working as a Speech Language Pathologist for children birth to 5 years. And by night, I try my best to balance the life of a newly-ish married woman with the everyday responsibilities and the desire to live fully.

If you are not married, then this may make no sense, but I will venture to explain: Having the husband that I do, makes the picture of my life that much more complete. Though our married lives are by no means perfect, and I have so much more to learn...my husband is the one who waters my little seedlings of dreams. He has caused my heart to blossom. He takes joy in the different colours that make me who I am and encourages me to grow in new ways.

That is how this blog began.

I never knew I could make a meal, and not have a worn out path to the nearest wastebasket. I never knew that I would love being in the kitchen, filling the house with aromas, wearing the cute apron with flour in my hair. As my hubby asked me to make different things and as I tackled each one, he encouraged me to write it down. So one day, with a pot of coffee, an empty lodge and hours to spend, Married with Kitchen was born.

I may not be the most dedicated or verbose blogger. But I can assure you that when I put words to page and publish them, my heart is in it. As cliche as it may seem, the best meals are made with love. And I do try to give this blog, my best.

As for me, if I'm not blogging, I'm living.

I love so many different things. If I could live as a different person, I would most likely be as spunky and elegant as Audrey Hepburn. If I could do anything for a living, it would need to involve party planning, decorating and real estate?? I could probably spend most of my time on vacation, and prefer to take it somewhere warm. I love to go on bargain hunts, and have a very difficult time purchasing things full priced. As much as I love to cook, I equally love to discover restaurants in my city or abroad. If you sat with me, I may try to make you laugh because laughing is my favorite. My husband says that if I was an animal, I'd be a puppy. If I could try something and succeed, I would be a musician/vocalist. I'm pretty sure I have an unhealthy attachment to caffeinated beverages and candy (sorry dentist). If I could paint a wall, it would be a light Tiffany blue/green. I would like to be invited to an outdoor garden party, so if you are having one, please invite me. One day I would like to design my own home and have a cottage with the best nautical decor! My wedding day was the happiest day of my life...

Instead of going on, I will say that the adventures of life are in the pages of my blog. So I would be honoured if you stayed a while and came back to see the ways in which it grows. That's the exciting part, life is not static; its moving, changing, living and breathing.
